City Recorder Christy Odenwald was recognized by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen Thursday night for over five years of exemplary service to the citizens of White House.

Odenwald stepped down from her government post to take a teaching position at Hendersonville High School, a job that she says will give her more time with her family. "Working for the city has been great," said Odenwald, "but this will give me more time at home, and will allow me to work in the field where I started." Odenwald, who moved from the Police department to the administrative post about two years ago, will be teaching Criminology, the field in which she received her degree.

Board members praised her professionalism and kindness, and pointed out that her successor would have a big hole to fill.

Approximately 100 acres of the Broadrick property on Highway 76 was approved for annexation, to be zoned general commercial.

The board also gave final approval for temporary parking lots to use gravel, and approved the expansion of the regulations for agricultural activities in residential areas to allow for personal gardens.
